Frictions is a sound triptych that places the body in the center of the performance and explores it as a place of constant transformation. Echoing physical, political and spiritual considerations, Frictions confronts a human body with three sound installations/concerts, conceived by Yann Marussich in collaboration with the Swiss sound artists Julie Semoroz, Denis Rollet and Francisco Meirino.

The performance artist is lying on a surface made of 1,568 jack plugs placed heads up, like a bed of nails. The imprint of Yann Marussich’s skin is transformed into sound by the hundreds of captors on which he lies. The ensemble forms a sort of mega-antenna, a machine that is alive and produces organic sounds. Similar to both a torture device and a therapeutic one, this creation unfolds on different levels, leading to an awareness not of pain, but rather of the body in the present. The installation will remain in place and will continue to function independently after the performance, available for the public’s reactivations.
