BLESSURE - 2005
Description:

A man lies naked on a bed of white feathers, an arrow stuck through his side. At the centre of the stage, it looks as if a red sofa is there waiting for him to sit on. Yann Marussich embarks on a four-hour journey to the limits of immobility and movement. Intensely focused and extremely slow, Marussich’s smooth and minute movements are stuck between capture and release. Blessure (Wound), gives the audience time and space to travel to the deepest recesses of their own selves: a solitary introspection within a common experience.

“What I am looking for now is something that cannot be found in the street: immobility. The only time you might get to witness immobility is with death, and even that is hidden from us more often than not. As Léo Ferré used to say, ‘immobility is the plague of our century’”. Y.M.
