MISSING BODIES exhibition at the AGGC in March 2025The Atelier Genevois de Gravure Contemporaine hosts the exhibition MISSING BODIES, a project by Yann Marussich on the subject of amputation.
In 2024, as part of his MISSING BODY project, Yann Marussich conducted a research laboratory in Mozambique with war amputees, all victims of anti-personnel mines. This long-term project spans several years and several continents, and includes performances, videos, a documentary and the creation Corps manquant, which will be presented in May at the Comédie de Genève. During these residencies, participants explored artistic expression through drawing, creating self-portraits and portraits of others performing. From these works, Yann Marussich developed a series of etchings, using different techniques (tetrapack, burin on aluminum, burin on metal/aquatint, linocut). A personal series by the artist on the theme of amputation will also enrich this exhibition. In addition, a selection of video performances will be shown throughout the exhibition. Profits from the sale of the prints will be entirely donated to the project, which is currently in deficit, and to improving the living conditions of the participants.
MISSING BODY is a travelling initiative that continues to explore the realities of amputation and landmines. Funding permitting, the next stages will take place in Colombia, Laos and Ukraine, with three years of development in each country.
Yann Marussich is delighted to invite you to the exhibition opening on March 13, 2025 at 6pm. It's a unique opportunity to explore his work, talk with him and get to the heart of the artistic and human issues at stake in this project.
