MISSING BODIES exhibition at the AGGC in March 2025

The Atelier Genevois de Gravure Contemporaine hosts the exhibition MISSING BODIES, a project by Yann Marussich on the subject of amputation.

In 2024, as part of his MISSING BODY project, Yann Marussich conducted a research laboratory in Mozambique with war amputees, all victims of anti-personnel mines. This long-term project spans several years and several continents, and includes performances, videos, a documentary and the creation Corps manquant, which will be presented in May at the Comédie de Genève. During these residencies, participants explored artistic expression through drawing, creating self-portraits and portraits of others performing. From these works, Yann Marussich developed a series of etchings, using different techniques (tetrapack, burin on aluminum, burin on metal/aquatint, linocut). A personal series by the artist on the theme of amputation will also enrich this exhibition. In addition, a selection of video performances will be shown throughout the exhibition. Profits from the sale of the prints will be entirely donated to the project, which is currently in deficit, and to improving the living conditions of the participants.

MISSING BODY is a travelling initiative that continues to explore the realities of amputation and landmines. Funding permitting, the next stages will take place in Colombia, Laos and Ukraine, with three years of development in each country.

Yann Marussich is delighted to invite you to the exhibition opening on March 13, 2025 at 6pm. It's a unique opportunity to explore his work, talk with him and get to the heart of the artistic and human issues at stake in this project.

DISPARITION
LE SUCRE N'EST PAS UNE RÉCOMPENSE

From Saturday, December 9 to Friday, December 22, 2023

In this act of resistance, Yann Marussich questions the sugar industry and highlights how the agri-food industry has gangrened the world's population by minimizing the devastating effects of the first of primary flavors. A joyful, critical and playful reflection, but also documented, argued and sustained, for all audiences (young and old), Yann Marussich takes an artistic and satirical look at the world of sugar, while proposing a participatory approach.

Several artistic avenues are explored:

Persona
Persona

Persona is a groupshow organized by the festival Le Mosche, in Palermo (Italy) from the 29th April until the 19th May 2017.

EXPERIENCE OF IMMOBILITY : 20 YEARS OF PERFORMANCE ACTS

From December 16, 2015 to January 9, 2016, at Le Commun (BAC, Geneva), performance artist Yann Marussich celebrated 20 years of poetic, political and aesthetic immobility with Experience of Immobility, 20 years of Performance Acts.

A performance exhibition in which the Geneva-based artist invokes new perceptions of the key pieces in his repertoire. How does he do this? By activating them one by one, for almost a month. With this experiment, a perpetual movement, Yann Marussich opens up a field of work in constant process of transformation. It's an act that also conjures up new temporalities, since the public will have ample opportunity to discover the performance devices before, during and after the performative act. Conceived as a true plunge into the heart of this singular art form, not hesitating to show its multiple facets and reveal the other side of the coin, Experience of Immobility also explores the points of contact between Yann Marussich's practice, that of other performers and different artistic or critical disciplines, through installations, exhibitions, encounters and screenings.
